We can identify which children are at risk of reading and spelling difficulties from as early as six months of age.
Emma Hartnell-Baker is seeking funding to develop technology and resources that will allow more three-year-olds to be screened and supported before they start school, reducing the need for fully trained professionals to carry out assessments.
Screening and suppoort currently takes place at the Early Dyslexia Screening Centre, managed by The Reading Hut Ltd, with plans to establish centres across the country. Every child should have the opportunity to be screened at age three.
My SLCN CIC will be a delivery partner, seeking funding to offer this to every family for free.
